A funded M.S. Graduate Research Assistantship is available at Texas A&M University Kingsville in the Aquatic Ecology Lab, supervised by Dr. Zachary Mitchell. The position focuses on crayfish population ecology and conservation, specifically examining the distribution, habitat use, environmental tolerances, and population dynamics of imperiled Texas crayfish species. The selected student will be responsible for population monitoring and mark-recapture studies, including intensive field sampling, tagging, demographic analyses, and interpreting environmental drivers of population dynamics. The research will involve regular field travel across South Texas and substantial quantitative data analysis.

The assistantship offers $2,000 per month plus fringe benefits for 24 months, with a non-resident tuition waiver for out-of-state students (resident tuition and fees still apply).
