About this position

?? PhD Studentship Opportunity ??

Interested in organoid and organ-on-a-chip models of cancer? ??

We have an exciting studentship to explore treatments for one of the rarer cancers - osteosarcoma! Funded by the wonderful folks at Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony Trust, this project will tackle the tricky challenge of preventing chemoresistance building up in these patients. People who suffer from osteosarcoma are mostly teenagers and young adults, and treatments have barely improved in the last 40 years since chemotherapy was introduced. Given the difficulties of conducting clinical trials on such a rare cancer, we will use in vitro methods to provide a leap forward in osteosarcoma drug discovery. ??

Join us at the QMUL Centre for Predictive in vitro Models , alongside Dr Lucia Cottone
, Fellow of the UCL Cancer Institute , and Prof Fiona Freeman
, Associate Professor of Tissue Engineering at University College Dublin .
