The Sooner Advanced Manufacturing Lab at the University of Oklahoma is seeking highly motivated PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team at the forefront of advanced manufacturing science. The lab, part of the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, is led by Professor Kash Barker and faculty colleagues, and offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge research in areas such as AI/ML-driven in-situ monitoring, predictive modeling for manufacturing, metal additive process development, and full lifecycle management of manufacturing research.

Applicants for the PhD program should have backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science. The lab values candidates who are curious, hands-on, and passionate about innovation in manufacturing. Some sponsored projects require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. Postdoctoral candidates should hold a PhD in a relevant field, have a strong publication record, and demonstrate expertise in sensor integration, finite element modeling (FEM), or metal additive manufacturing experimentation.
