Hosted at Loughborough University Business School in partnership with Rise Mutual CIC.] Rise Mutual CIC, in partnership with Loughborough University, invites applications for three fully funded PhD positions focused on evaluating the effectiveness of interventions with perpetrators of domestic abuse. These doctoral projects aim to develop innovative approaches to assessing the outcomes and impact of domestic abuse (DA) interventions, drawing on real-world programmes delivered by RISE Mutual. The research will address three core dimensions: methods for evaluating perpetrator interventions, culturally informed family interventions (including those relevant to LGBTQ+ relationships), and the influence of organisational culture and structure on responses to domestic violence and abuse. The projects are underpinned by the application of cybernetic reasoning and are expected to evolve as the research progresses. Studentships are hosted at the Centre for Information Management within Loughborough University Business School, with RISE Mutual based in London. Successful candidates will benefit from mentorship by leading academics and practitioners, access to intervention data, and the opportunity to contribute research that informs government policy and advances knowledge in a vital social field. The positions offer a starting stipend of £20,780 per annum, with two studentships commencing in January 2026 and a third in October 2026. Applicants should hold a first-class or upper second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as social sciences, psychology, criminology, organisational studies, or data analytics. A master’s degree is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in evaluation methods, organisational culture, and organisational performance, as well as research and data analysis skills. Excellent communication and collaborative abilities are essential, and prior exposure to work with perpetrators and/or victims of domestic abuse is desirable.
