About this position
Join the United Brains 4 Hydrogen (UB4H) program at Eindhoven University of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher focused on advancing learning and working in innovative hydrogen Brainport learning communities. UB4H is a pioneering initiative that bridges education, research, and industry to accelerate the green hydrogen transition, aiming to build responsive ecosystems that foster collaboration, reduce time-to-job, and drive innovation for a climate-neutral society.
As a postdoc, you will design and optimize learning communities that integrate learning, working, and innovation, collaborating with two other postdocs to develop practical tools and strategies for effective partnerships between education, industry, and government. Your research will advance theoretical and practical understanding of learning and development processes within and between organizations in the hydrogen sector. You will analyze design principles and interventions that promote collaboration, co-creation, and innovation, and develop methods for evaluating and optimizing learning communities, including strategies for brokers and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include conducting qualitative, quantitative, and participatory research (such as case studies and realist evaluations), facilitating co-design processes, supporting brokers, publishing academic papers and practical guidelines, and presenting findings at conferences. You will work closely with educators, industry partners, and policymakers to implement and evaluate learning community strategies, contributing to the vibrant research ecosystem within the Eindhoven School of Education and the broader UB4H program.
Applicants must have a PhD in educational sciences, learning sciences, organizational studies, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in learning and development processes within and between organizations. Experience with diverse research methods, the ability to facilitate co-design and collaboration, strategic and organizational sensitivity, and strong communication skills are essential. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Dutch is advantageous.
The position offers part-time employment (0.8 FTE) for three years, with a competitive salary (scale 10: €4,241–€5,538), year-end bonus, vacation pay, and a range of benefits including training, technical infrastructure, childcare, sports facilities, parental leave, commuting and home working allowances, and support for international candidates. The university provides a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and international environment, with a strong commitment to research-driven education and societal impact.
To apply, submit your application online with a cover letter, CV (including publications and references), and up to five selected publications. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. For more information, contact Asst. Prof. Gonny Schellings at [email protected].
