About this position
The Bucharest University of Economic Studies invites applications for a part-time Postdoctoral Researcher position within the aiTrust project, titled "A Study of Consumer Trust in Online Reviews and Social Media Comments in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." The project, led by Principal Investigator Maria Petrescu, aims to explore how consumers perceive and interpret information from online reviews and social media comments, especially as artificial intelligence increasingly generates such content. The research will analyze the impact of AI-based tools on consumer trust, purchasing decisions, and behavior, using a multi-method and multi-stakeholder approach to develop a comprehensive framework for online trust in the digital economy.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will engage with advanced topics including artificial intelligence, sentiment analysis, social networking analysis, marketing and management strategy, public policy, marketing data modeling, and consumer behavior. The position offers flexible working hours (50 hours/month), a gross hourly salary of 80 lei, and runs until June 30, 2026. You will have opportunities to present your findings at international conferences and collaborate intensively with a committed, multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must possess a PhD or equivalent in economics, business mathematics, business informatics, marketing, or management. Essential skills include expertise in statistics and econometric modeling, data analysis, market research, probabilistic reasoning in AI, and the study of online social media user behavior. Experience with IBM SPSS, R, USINet, and eViews is required, along with a strong publication record in digital economy, digitization, social media studies, or public policy related to digitization. Advanced English proficiency and excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are necessary. Responsibilities include conducting research activities, developing algorithms and statistical methods, writing scientific articles and reports, and disseminating results within the project team and at conferences.
The application deadline is March 16, 2026. For further information, contact Prof. Mihai Orzan at [email protected]. Detailed job descriptions and eligibility criteria are available on the university's application portal. The position is not funded by the EU Research Framework Programme and is not related to a staff position within a research infrastructure.
