Applications are invited to undertake research on wireless sensors and sensing technologies for IoT applications at a PhD level. The project will involve the design and investigation of wireless sensing technologies, sensors of various sensing capabilities, IoT technologies, AI-enabled IoT for industrial applications. A system with the integration of smart wireless sensor and advanced sensing and IoT technologies will be established and assessed in both laboratory and industrial environments.

Eligibility

The applicant should have at least a 2.1 honours degree or Master's degree in wireless technologies, sensors, antennas, microwave engineering or an electrical engineering subject, and meet the academic requirements for enrolment for a doctorate at the University of Manchester.

The applicant will be enthusiastic and have a rigorous and disciplined approach to research. Good team-working and communication skills are essential.
