15 Fully Funded PhD Positions in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Data Science, and Biology – TrackAF Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network

The TrackAF Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network is offering 15 fully funded PhD positions for early-career researchers interested in advancing research on atrial cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation. This interdisciplinary program brings together leading academic, clinical, and industrial institutions across Europe, including the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Maastricht University, Medizinische Universität Graz, Universidad de Zaragoza, and others. The research focuses on computational cardiac modelling, clinical AI, data-driven approaches, and wet lab science to address key challenges in cardiovascular health. Doctoral candidates will engage in cutting-edge research projects such as multimodal AF risk analysis, mechanosensitive channel studies, simulation of AF triggers, and the development of generative atrial models. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary training, international secondments, and collaboration across academia, industry, and healthcare. Fields of study include biomedical engineering, clinical data science, biology, machine learning, signal processing, numerical modelling, and scientific computing. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and demonstrate fluency in English, willingness to travel, and openness to interdisciplinary collaboration. The MSCA Mobility Rule applies, and candidates must not already possess a doctoral degree. The program offers a highly competitive salary, including a living allowance, mobility allowance, and family allowance, with full social security and employment benefits. Applications are open until April 12, 2026, with the program starting on September 1, 2026. Interested candidates should visit the TrackAF website for detailed project descriptions and application instructions. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a vibrant network of researchers and contribute to innovative solutions in atrial fibrillation management and cardiovascular health.
