Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions in Hydrodynamic and Ecological Modeling at SHENS Lab

The Sustainable Hydro-ENvironmental Systems (SHENS) Lab at K.N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), Tehran, Iran, is inviting applications for two full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. These roles are part of interdisciplinary research projects funded under a joint agreement with the Organization for Development of International Science and Technology Cooperation (ODISTC) and Connect ISTI. The positions are set to begin on October 1, 2026, for a one-year term with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. SHENS Lab focuses on cutting-edge research at the intersection of hydrodynamic and ecological modeling, with a strong emphasis on climate change, sea-level rise, and the resilience of ecological and environmental systems. Research topics include modeling the effects of climate change on coasts, lakes, oceans, bays, and other water resources, leveraging advanced computational tools and cloud-based simulations. The lab is known for its interdisciplinary approach, bringing together scientists and engineers to address sustainability challenges using Python, Linux, Bash-Scripting, and cloud computing. Key responsibilities for the postdoctoral associates include developing and optimizing hydrodynamic and ecological models, implementing large-scale computational frameworks, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, publishing high-impact research, and supervising graduate and undergraduate students.
