The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is offering two fully funded PhD positions in the Perception and Cognition for Autonomous Systems (PCAS) group, focusing on perception for sustainable agriculture robots. The research will center on sensor fusion and multimodal AI for robotic perception, self-supervised learning for agricultural pre-trained models, 3D canopy modeling and plant growth dynamics, and anomaly detection beyond RGB. These technologies aim to enable autonomous robots to support sustainable farming practices such as intercropping, boosting biodiversity, and reducing pesticide use. Successful candidates will join a collaborative research environment, working with leading experts from Denmark and the Netherlands, and participate in real-world field testing. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and have experience in machine learning, computer vision, or sensor technologies.
