MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aerial Robotics at Inria Rennes (Robotics, Control, AI)

Inria Rennes, under the supervision of Professor Marco Tognon, is recruiting strong candidates for the 2026 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) in the field of Aerial Robotics. The position is based in the Team RAINBOW at Inria Rennes, France, and focuses on advanced research topics such as aerial physical interaction, robotic manipulation, model-based and learning-based control/planning, perception-aware interaction, and multi-robot cooperative manipulation (e.g., collaborative transportation of loads). This opportunity is ideal for postdoctoral researchers with expertise in robotics, control, or embodied AI who are seeking to develop their careers in a top European research environment. The MSCA-PF at Inria offers a comprehensive training programme, including info webinars, proposal writing sessions, and one-to-one review meetings to maximize the quality and funding chances of your application. The fellowship provides a competitive salary, mobility and family allowances, and covers research, training, and networking costs. The duration is 12–24 months in Europe, with an optional private sector placement. The nominal success rate is around 15%, making this a highly competitive and prestigious opportunity. Eligibility criteria include holding a PhD by the call deadline (9 September 2026), having no more than 8 years of full-time research experience post-PhD, and meeting the MSCA mobility rule (not having resided or worked in France for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the deadline, with some exceptions for European nationals). A strong research track record is recommended. Candidates are expected to prepare a CV and a concise project idea (4–5 lines) and contact Professor Marco Tognon directly to express their interest. Applicants are encouraged to register for the info webinar and training sessions, review the full list of Inria hosting offers, and consult the robotics hosting offers PDF for more details. Early application is strongly recommended to maximize support and preparation time. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity to join a leading research team in aerial robotics and contribute to cutting-edge developments in robotics, control, and artificial intelligence.
