PhD Position in Embedded Systems and Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical Applications
A fully funded PhD position is available at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Atef. The research focuses on the application of embedded systems and artificial intelligence (AI) for biomedical applications, with an emphasis on the design and synthesis of AI models on FPGA or deployment on MCU. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary and international research team, participate in high-quality research projects, and have opportunities to present at international conferences.
Applicants should have a master's degree in electrical and electronics engineering, computer engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field, with both MSc and BSc degrees having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Experience with microcontroller units (MCU) and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) is required. Candidates must also demonstrate motivation, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work in an international team. An official IELTS certificate with a score of 6.5 or higher is required.
