Fully Funded PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Functional Materials, and Green Solvents at University of Malaya

The University of Malaya is offering a fully funded PhD opportunity in the Department of Chemistry under the UM Bright Scholarship, supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Muggundha Raoov Ramachandran. This position is ideal for outstanding and motivated graduates interested in analytical chemistry, functional materials, green solvents (including deep eutectic solvents and ionic liquids), micro-extraction, and environmental and food analysis. The research group provides a dynamic environment with strong publication records, conference participation, and international collaboration opportunities. The UM Bright Scholarship covers full tuition fees for up to 7 semesters and provides a generous monthly stipend of RM3,500 for up to 42 months. Both Malaysian and international applicants are welcome to apply. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a CGPA of at least 3.70 (or equivalent) or a Master's degree (by research or mixed mode) with a CGPA of at least 3.70. Candidates must be 30 years old or younger in the year of application. Non-Malaysian applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with IELTS (Academic) ≥ 6.5, TOEFL 73–93, or CEFR B2, with test results valid within 2 years.
