Faculty Librarian Positions in Computational Research and Student Success at Carnegie Mellon University Libraries

Carnegie Mellon University Libraries is hiring two new faculty librarians to join a collaborative and engaged team. The Computational Research Librarian, Social Sciences & Humanities will support computational and data-intensive scholarship in areas such as Philosophy, Psychology, Social and Decision Sciences, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). This role is ideal for candidates who view librarianship as an intellectual partnership and are eager to grow within CMU's interdisciplinary research community. The Undergraduate Experience & Student Success Librarian is a new position focused on enhancing student belonging, well-being, and academic success. The successful candidate will work closely with students and partner across the libraries and campus to create transformative academic experiences. Both positions are faculty appointments, offering support for your own scholarship and professional development. The library values a people-first, values-enacted approach and is committed to the promise of higher education and the power of academic libraries. Research interests in open science, assessment reform, AI literacy, and humanities are welcome. Applications received by March 10, 2026, will receive first consideration.
