Postdoctoral Position in Phytopathology Applied to Sugarcane at CEPENFITO

The Engineering Research Center for Plant Health in Sugar Cane (CEPENFITO) in Jaboticabal, São Paulo, Brazil, is offering a postdoctoral position in the field of phytopathology applied to sugarcane. The postdoctoral researcher will also participate in teaching activities, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and attend technical and scientific meetings. The candidate will be responsible for proposing and implementing a research project on sugarcane, aligned with CEPENFITO’s strategic priorities, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tadeu Antônio Fernandes da Silva Júnior. Applicants must have a PhD in Plant Pathology, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field, with their thesis focused on plant pathology. The PhD must have been completed within the last 10 years. Candidates should demonstrate strong training and aptitude in plant pathology, interdisciplinary research skills, and experience with sugarcane studies, including etiology, epidemiology, disease management, and molecular plant pathology. Publications in peer-reviewed indexed scientific journals are important, and international research experience is valued. Candidates must be able to reside in Jaboticabal, São Paulo, Brazil, and dedicate themselves exclusively to the postdoctoral program. Good proficiency in English and Portuguese is required. The fellowship offers R$ 12,000.00 per month for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal.
