Flinders University in Australia is offering a fully funded PhD position in hydrogeology and water resources engineering, open to both international and domestic students. The program is based in the College of Science and Engineering and focuses on impactful research in hydrogeology, including marine/freshwater and surface water systems, groundwater interactions, and advanced laboratory and modeling techniques. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team working on Australian Research Council Linkage Projects and collaborate with experts in geomorphology, oceanography, geophysics, hydrochemistry, and mathematical modeling.

The principal supervisor is Professor Adrian Werner, with co-supervision from specialists at Flinders and other Australian universities. Applicants must have an honors or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as water resources engineering, hydrogeology, hydrology/hydraulics, remote sensing, or environmental science, and meet Flinders University’s PhD admission requirements. Preference is given to those with experience in computer modeling, coding, or field-based hydrogeology techniques. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

The scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of AUD 33,533 per annum, paid fortnightly, and covers full tuition fees for three years, with a possible six-month extension. International students receive a tuition fee exemption, and domestic students benefit from a research training program fee offset.
