About this position
Successful candidates will be based at one of three leading institutions, De Montfort University , Loughborough University , or the University of Leicester , where they will receive support from teams of researchers and collaborate with local community-focused organisations.

Fully funded PhD studentship: tuition fees covered in full (approx. £15-17k for the full programme), monthly stipend of £19,237 per annum (pro rata, tax free), and a £20k tax-free bursary. Funding is for three years, with support from academic and community partners.
What's required
Applicants must demonstrate experience supporting or leading grassroots projects; a degree or academic background is not required. Essential competencies include strong understanding of the project, analytical skills, ability to communicate complex concepts, and experience collaborating with community groups or voluntary sector organisations. Inclusive group facilitation skills, passion for learning, and commitment to environmental sustainability and social justice are required. Desirable skills include fluency in South Asian languages, computer literacy, and flexibility to attend meetings outside office hours. Only those meeting eligibility criteria will be considered.
