About this position
A fully funded 18-month postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Bioorganic team at Institut CARMeN (UMR 6064, CNRS, Université de Rouen Normandie), France. The research focuses on the fast chemical functionalization of pharmacophores, aiming to understand the mechanism of action of pharmacophores and optimize their market introduction. The project involves developing and applying late-stage functionalization strategies to therapeutically relevant compounds, such as drug candidates, to introduce chemical tags (imaging agents, photo-reactive functionalities) for affinity labelling studies. Collaboration with biologists is expected.
Candidates must hold a PhD in chemistry and have expertise in organic synthesis methodologies, catalysis, and photochemistry. Highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in the interface of organic chemistry and biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in chemical biology is a plus.
The fellowship is fully funded for 18 months, with a gross monthly salary of 3000–3500 EUR, supported by Region/FEDER (subject to regional funding). The expected start date is between February 1 and April 1, 2026.
To apply, send a detailed CV, a short research summary, and contact details for two referees who can provide recommendation letters to [email protected]. For more information, see the LinkedIn post or contact the supervisor directly.
