About this position

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Health Campus is inviting applications for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position under the FRGS 2025-1 funded project titled "Elucidating Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders Using Machine Learning Approach and Risk Prediction Among Food Delivery Riders in Kelantan." This research integrates ergonomics assessment, advanced machine learning modeling, and the development of a web-based risk prediction tool, focusing on occupational health and safety among food delivery riders.

The successful candidate will be involved in field data collection, statistical and machine learning analysis, prediction model development, and web-based application development. The project offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in data science, ergonomics, and public health, with the potential for publications and a postgraduate study pathway (MSc).

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Ergonomics, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Essential skills include basic programming or statistical analysis (R/Python/SPSS), strong communication and academic writing, and the motivation to conduct independent fieldwork. The position is open to Malaysian applicants only.
