Job alert ??: we are searching for a Ph.D. student for exploring functionizing the interlayer space of MXenes for energy storage and other electrochemical applications ???

Within the framework of RTG 3082 (Research Training Group; funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation ) coordinated by David Scheschkewitz from Universität des Saarlandes , my team is looking for a Ph.D. student to join us this fall. Your profile should be a Master's degree in material science, chemistry, or a related field with experience in material chemistry and 2D materials ??

Your task? You will explore the properties of functional groups and intercalated ions/molecules in-between MXene sheets. The unique world of nanoconfinement will be used as a technology platform to enable (electro)chemical applications. You are also being part of a coordinated research program, interacting with several other Ph.D. students and PIs - so we are looking for self-motived, teamwork-oriented people ????

What's required

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in chemistry, materials science, energy materials, or a closely related field. Experience with 2D materials, MXene, and material characterization is required. Experience with electrochemical methods and material synthesis is preferred. Candidates should be able to work in an international, multi-disciplinary team and possess excellent communication and writing skills in English. Knowledge of German is beneficial.
