The Anne Krug Lab at the Institute for Immunology, Biomedical Center (BMC), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, is offering a PhD position focused on exploring the immune response to the live-attenuated yellow fever vaccine. This research is part of the EU-funded Yellow4FLAVI consortium, which aims to deconstruct protective immunity from the YF17D vaccine to advance flavivirus vaccine design. The successful candidate will employ advanced multiomics approaches, including transcriptomics and proteomics, as well as primary cell cultures, to investigate early immune activation at the injection site and the role of dendritic cells in adaptive immunity.

The lab is situated on the vibrant Martinsried campus, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and an international, interdisciplinary research environment. The ideal applicant will have a Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field, with hands-on experience in cellular biology or immunology techniques such as cell culture and flow cytometry. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are also required.
