About this position
The University of Luxembourg, through its Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), is offering a postdoctoral position in the SigCom research group, led by Professor Symeon Chatzinotas. The group specializes in wireless and satellite communications, focusing on the design and analysis of future 6G networks and their integration with advanced AI techniques. The successful candidate will contribute to projects at the intersection of AI—including Foundation Models, Generative AI, Federated and Decentralized Learning, Neurosymbolic and Hybrid AI, and Self-Supervised Learning—and their application in wireless communications and edge computing systems.
Research topics include adaptive, AI-driven embedded algorithms for real-time analytics and decision-making in IoT, wireless communication, and remote sensing systems. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in the TelecomAI Lab to integrate AI models into advanced telecommunication architectures, supporting lab activities related to AI implementation across platforms such as Jetson, Raspberry Pi, FPGA, and neuromorphic chips. The candidate will be expected to publish in top-tier journals, present at international conferences, and participate in outreach activities.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with a strong publication record and expertise in machine learning, edge intelligence, and wireless communication. Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch is required, and experience with Edge AI platforms is a plus. The position is a fixed-term contract for 24 months, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176.
The University of Luxembourg is a modern, international institution with strong ties to industry and society, offering a dynamic research environment and high-quality infrastructure. Applications should be submitted online through the university's HR system, including CV, academic background, thesis summaries, publication list, cover letter, motivation, and research interests. Early applications are encouraged, and preference may be given to female candidates in departments where gender parity is not yet achieved.
The university values inclusion and diversity and is committed to removing discriminatory barriers in recruitment and career progression.
