About this position

Join the United Brains 4 Hydrogen (UB4H) program at Eindhoven University of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher focused on digital technologies for hydrogen workforce development. UB4H is an innovative initiative that bridges education, research, and industry to accelerate the green hydrogen transition by building learning communities and digital solutions for future professionals in the energy sector. In this role, you will work closely with two other postdocs to develop practical tools that enhance collaboration between education, industry, and government, ensuring professionals acquire future-proof skills for lifelong learning. Your research will center on digital learning environments, including virtual and remote labs, to accelerate skill development and reduce time-to-job for hydrogen professionals. You will integrate digital literacy, AI, and experiential learning into adaptive training programs, and innovate methods for assessing learning performance and collaboration in virtual and hybrid settings.

The position is embedded in the Eindhoven School of Education and offers opportunities to refine research questions, prototype digital solutions, and collaborate with educational institutions and industry partners. Responsibilities include designing and evaluating adaptive training programs, prototyping and testing remote lab experiments, publishing academic papers and practical guidelines, and presenting findings at conferences. You will also collaborate with educators, technical experts, and industry partners to implement digital solutions in real-world contexts.

Applicants should have a PhD in educational sciences, engineering education, learning sciences, or a related discipline, with experience in digital learning environments, simulations, or remote labs. Strong methodological skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.

The position offers part-time employment (0.8 FTE) for 3 years, with a competitive salary (scale 10), year-end bonus, vacation pay, and a range of benefits including training programs, technical infrastructure, childcare, sports facilities, and support for international candidates.
