The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Nutrition Research Institute (UNC NRI) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a dynamic team focused on community-engaged behavioral health research. The NRI is renowned for its work in nutrigenetics and precision nutrition, and this position centers on addressing eating disorder disparities, chronic disease prevention and management, mHealth intervention development, and screening/treatment disparities in primary care settings.

This postdoctoral role is designed to foster the growth of an independent investigator, offering mentorship and training in disordered eating, behavioral health interventions, community-based participatory research (CBPR), mHealth approaches, and chronic disease disparities. The successful candidate will have opportunities for manuscript and grant writing, leadership development, exposure to innovative research methods and technology, and access to pilot funding to support the launch of their own research initiatives.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Public Health, Social Work, Nutrition, Psychology, or a related field such as Sociology. Essential qualifications include experience with community-based research, health disparities, qualitative research methods (focus groups/interviews), and IRB processes. The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and possess strong communication skills with a community-oriented approach.
