About this position
The University of Louisville is offering a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the lab of Associate Professor Tyagi Neetu. The research focuses on the mechanisms of Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI) following Ischemic Stroke and Alzheimer’s Disease, integrating advanced topics such as epigenetics, inflammation, and neurovascular biology. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in cutting-edge neuroscience research, particularly those with expertise in neurobiology, vascular biology, or epigenetic regulation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing micro-surgery in mouse models (including middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and traumatic brain injury (TBI)), conducting molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blotting, and immunostaining, and analyzing transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic data using bioinformatics tools. Additional responsibilities include conducting experiments in rodent models and cell cultures, collaborating with team members, and contributing to manuscript preparation and grant writing.
Applicants must have a PhD or MD/PhD in Neuroscience or a related field, with a strong background in neurobiology, vascular biology, or epigenetic regulation. Experience with MCAO and TBI surgery in mouse models is required, and experience with behavioral studies (memory function) in mouse models is preferred. A track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential.
Interested candidates should send an email with their application materials to [email protected]. For more information about the lab and research interests, visit the supervisor's LinkedIn profile.
