The Grenoble Institute of Neurosciences (GIN, Inserm U1216, Université Grenoble Alpes) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience. This fixed-term, full-time position (February 2026–January 2027) is based at the GIN in Grenoble, France, a leading multidisciplinary research center dedicated to understanding brain function and developing new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will join the ‘Brain, Behaviour and Neuromodulation’ team, supervised by Senior Lecturer Mario Hervault, and work closely with clinical and methodological partners, including the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital (CHUGA) and GIPSA-lab.
The research project focuses on the burst dynamics of neural oscillations involved in human cognitive control, with a particular emphasis on Parkinson's disease and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The postdoctoral researcher will design, develop, and conduct analyses of burst dynamics in neural oscillations using human EEG and LFP datasets. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining analysis pipelines for detecting and quantifying neural oscillation bursts, performing pre-processing, time-frequency and statistical analyses, and modelling to link neural activity to cognitive control and clinical symptoms. The role also involves documenting datasets from patients with DBS implants, promoting research findings through publications and conferences, and collaborating with clinicians, engineers, and doctoral students. Opportunities for scientific co-supervision and participation in experimental recordings are available.
Applicants must have a PhD in neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, psychology, neuroengineering, or a related field, with proven experience in neurophysiological data analysis and programming for signal analysis. Experience with EEG, LFP, SEEG, or MEG data, as well as neuroimaging, is highly desirable. Skills in computational modelling or machine learning applied to brain signals are an asset. Candidates should be highly motivated, rigorous, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Excellent scientific English is required; French is a plus but not essential. The position offers a gross monthly salary starting from €2,900, depending on experience, and is funded for 12 months.
