The University of Graz is offering a Project Assistant (PhD Position) within the Department of Classics, focused on the doctoral programme ‘Resonant Self-World Relations in Ancient and Modern Socio-Religious Practices’. This interdisciplinary programme invites candidates to pursue independent research and write a dissertation in the fields of history, political science, sociology, and/or gender studies. The position is part of a vibrant academic community dedicated to exploring the intersections of antiquity and modernity in a European context, with a particular emphasis on socio-religious practices and their resonance in contemporary society.

As a doctoral candidate, you will engage in regular seminars, reading groups, and extracurricular events, as well as participate in conferences, including a final conference in September 2026. The role also involves collaboration on organisational and administrative tasks, event organisation, and public relations activities related to the project.
