Student Assistant Position in Machine Learning and Battery Sustainability Assessment (Masters) Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany

The Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is seeking a motivated student assistant, preferably a master's student, to join the RESET research group. The position focuses on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of machine learning applications and battery sustainability assessment, specifically targeting machine learning-based toxic pollutants prioritization of batteries. The RESET group brings together experts in environmental, economic, and social aspects of sustainable energy technologies.

Key responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, assisting with data collection and processing, contributing to scientific reports and outputs, and supporting the dissemination of research findings. The role also involves data mining, visualization, and the development of machine learning approaches for toxicity prioritization. Applicants should have strong research and organizational skills, proficiency in data visualization, and experience with machine learning methods such as Random Forest, XGBoost, SVR, and MLP. Familiarity with tools like PPT, Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Draw is required.
