Funding
The studentship is fully funded by the ESRC and Swansea University, covering tuition fees and an annual tax-free living stipend in line with UKRI minimum rates (£20,780 for 2025/26). Students also have access to a Research Training Support Grant. Disabled students may be entitled to a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) on top of the studentship.

Requirements
Applicants must have qualifications or experience equivalent to an honours degree at a first or upper second-class level, or a master's from a UK academic research organisation. Non-traditional academic backgrounds are welcome. English language proficiency is required: IELTS 6.5 overall (no component below 6.5) or Swansea University recognized equivalent. International and European applicants should check their qualifications against country-specific entry requirements. Applicants must submit a completed application form, CV, degree certificates and transcripts, two academic or professional references on headed paper or using the Swansea University reference form, evidence of English language proficiency (if applicable), a copy of UK resident visa (if applicable), and confirmation of EDI form submission. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview, including a presentation and panel questions.
