Postdoctoral Researcher in AI-Driven Molecular Biosciences and Drug Discovery

Wilfrid Laurier University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join ArGan's lab, led by Assistant Professor Aravindhan Ganesan, in the field of AI-driven molecular biosciences and drug discovery. This opportunity is ideal for scientists passionate about computational method development, artificial intelligence, and molecular drug discovery. The successful candidate will work closely with a Canadian biotech startup through a funded MITACS internship and collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams at the University of Waterloo. Research activities will focus on developing and applying advanced computational methods, machine learning and deep learning models, and biophysical simulations to advance therapeutic target characterization and small-molecule design. Applicants should have a PhD in Biochemistry or a related discipline (within 5 years), strong computational programming skills, and experience in ML/deep learning for small-molecule discovery. Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is required, and experience with molecular docking, MD simulations, QSAR, or cheminformatics is an asset.
