Stockholm University is offering a fully-funded PhD position in materials chemistry, focusing on climate technology and BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage). The successful candidate will join Professor Niklas Hedin's team and the SSF-funded ACCELERATE project, working on developing new liquids and adsorbents for safer and more cost-effective CO2 capture from biomass combustion flue gases. The research aims to create innovative materials, such as aminated nanoparticles or colloids, that can bind CO2 efficiently and reduce energy requirements for its release, thereby improving sustainability and safety compared to current technologies. The project is integrated into a larger competence center dedicated to accelerating the transition and scaling of bioCO2 utilization.
