Assistant Research Professor Position in International Human Resource Management at Penn State

The Penn State School of Labor and Employment Relations is seeking applications for an Assistant Research Professor position with the Center for International Human Resource Studies (CIHRS), starting July 1, 2026. CIHRS, established in 2013, is dedicated to advancing international and comparative human resource management (HRM) research and supporting the global HR practitioner community. The Center fosters a vibrant scholarly network through events, conferences, and workshops, focusing on international HRM and comparative HRM topics. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in human resource management, international business, or a related field, and demonstrate an emerging research program relevant to the Center’s interests. Familiarity with comparative HRM research and the CRANET research network is advantageous. The Assistant Research Professor will be expected to conduct research in international HRM, contribute to organizing international scholarly events, and provide service support to the Center. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per academic year, likely in HRM or research methods, with opportunities to teach in both residential and online programs. Prior teaching experience is preferred. The appointee will also participate actively in school activities and contribute to the academic community at Penn State. This is a salaried academic position; specific funding or salary details are not provided in the announcement. The position is based at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. For more information and to apply, visit the Penn State job portal. Review of applications will begin in mid-March.
