PhD Opportunities in Sustainable Sound Futures, Aeroacoustics, and Acoustics at University of Bristol

The University of Bristol, in collaboration with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Sound Futures, is recruiting seven PhD students to join its internationally recognised Aeroacoustics group. These positions offer the chance to work on cutting-edge research in acoustics, noise control, vibration analysis, and sustainable sound technologies, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and collaboration with leading industry partners such as Jaguar Land Rover, Siemens, RNIB, and Sonos. Projects span topics including advanced acoustic metamaterials for automotive applications, minimising noise transmission in electric vehicles, improving transfer path analysis for prototyping vehicles, and developing assistive technologies for blind and partially sighted people. Applicants should have a strong academic background in relevant science or engineering disciplines and, depending on the project, skills in programming, machine learning, or speech science.
