Fully Funded PhD Studentships in Wireless Communication Systems and Related Fields for Chinese Students at University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is offering 20 fully funded PhD studentships for outstanding Chinese students through the China Scholarship Council-Surrey Awards. These prestigious studentships are open to highly motivated candidates with a strong background in wireless communication systems or related fields, such as advanced signal processing, non-orthogonal transmissions (MIMO, NOMA), and alternative computational platforms (analogue, neuromorphic, quantum). Priority research themes include computer science, electronic engineering, space engineering, sustainability, manufacturing, healthcare technologies, biomedical engineering, psychology, food science, veterinary medicine, and translation studies. Successful applicants will receive a full tuition and bench fee waiver, a living stipend (including medical insurance) provided by the China Scholarship Council, roundtrip airfare between China and the UK, and a visa application fee reimbursement. The studentship duration is up to 48 months, with a start date of 1 October 2026. Applicants must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China, meet the University of Surrey’s academic and English language requirements, and agree to return to China upon completion of their studies. The application process involves identifying and contacting a prospective supervisor, applying for a PhD programme at Surrey, and submitting a CSC-Surrey studentship application form by 19 January 2026. For more information, visit the University of Surrey’s studentship webpage or contact the Doctoral College at [email protected].
