A DPhil (PhD) opportunity is available at the Ethox Centre, University of Oxford, focusing on the ethics of health inequalities and discrimination in health systems. The project, 'Invisible health inequalities: indirect discrimination and the life course approach,' aims to understand and address hidden biases in healthcare delivery, particularly those related to age and intersecting social disadvantages. The research will combine empirical case studies with normative ethical analysis to explore how health systems can promote justice and inclusion across the lifespan. Candidates will benefit from interdisciplinary training, regular supervision, and opportunities to engage with NHS organizations and policy-relevant research.
