PhD opportunity in Shared-Volume Antennas at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. This project sits in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and focuses on advanced antenna engineering, microwave and millimetre-wave communications, applied electromagnetics, and compact multi-functional antenna systems.

The research aims to develop new concepts for shared-volume antennas, where multiple radiators share space while remaining highly uncorrelated. The work includes passive and active decoupling techniques, antenna characterization, and design methods for next-generation wireless systems. The research environment is described as a dynamic group with access to state-of-the-art computing tools and measurement facilities for microwave circuits and antenna characterization.

This is a fully funded PhD supported by a research project scholarship. Funding includes a $37,500 per year tax-free stipend (2026 rate, indexed annually), tuition fees covered, and single overseas student health cover for international candidates.

Eligibility highlights include an MSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, strong knowledge of applied electromagnetics, experience with simulation tools, and preferably antenna design and microwave measurement experience.
