PhD Opportunity in Nonlinear Dynamics/Vibrations: System Identification of Nonlinear Space Structures via Physics-Informed Machine Learning

A fully-funded PhD position is currently available in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton.

What's required

Applicants must hold a UK 2:1 honours degree or its international equivalent in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline. Essential skills include a solid understanding of structural dynamics and vibration theory, background in numerical modelling or experimental mechanics, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively. Prior experience in nonlinear dynamics is desirable. Applications should include a personal statement, CV, two academic references, and degree transcripts.
