We are offering several PhD opportunities in the following research areas:
>> Fluid flow in porous media (covering both small- and large-scale systems)
>> Computational and experimental geomechanics (exploring grain-scale behavior and continuum-scale modeling of porous media, with a focus on mechanical and flow properties, and material interactions under stress using DEM and CFD methods)
>> Machine Learning (proficiency in Python is required)
Candidates should hold an MSc degree. For computational research, experience in programming (C++ and Python) is essential.
Candidates with a background in Petroleum Eng, Civil Eng, Mechanical Eng, Hydrology, and Physics are welcome to apply.
Please send your CV, along with a brief description of your relevant experience (including papers, reports, etc.), to tahmasebi[at]mines[dot]edu.
Rest assured that we will consider all applications, but only those who meet the qualifications mentioned above will be shortlisted and contacted.
