Stockholm University is offering fully funded PhD and postdoctoral positions in the Department of Chemistry, focusing on the interface between organic chemistry and materials science. The research group, led by Assistant Professor Miguel Rivero-Crespo, specializes in the synthesis and characterization of porous materials such as Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs), which are tailored with catalytically active sites for use as heterogeneous catalysts in organic reactions. The project is highly interdisciplinary, combining organic chemistry, materials science, and catalysis, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The main goal is to develop efficient, sustainable chemical processes by creating advanced heterogeneous catalysts that minimize byproduct formation and reduce the environmental impact of chemical production. The sustainability of new processes will be evaluated using various metrics.

Postdoc candidates must have a completed PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with expertise in synthesis and characterization of porous materials (MOF, COF, zeolites), catalysis (especially heterogeneous), and experience in organic, inorganic, or materials chemistry. Additional skills such as analytical thinking, creativity, independence, teamwork, and proficiency in English and/or Swedish are valued.

Funding: Both positions are fully funded. The PhD position is for 4 years, and the postdoc position is for 2 years, with full-time employment and individual salary agreements.
