Fully Funded USTC Research Internship 2026 in China – Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, and More (Bachelor, Master, PhD) University of Science and Technology of China in China

The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is offering a fully funded Research Internship Program for 2026 in Hefei, Anhui, China. This prestigious opportunity is open to international students from all countries who are interested in gaining hands-on research experience in a wide range of academic fields, including Chemistry, Materials Science, Computer Science and Technology, Earth and Space Sciences, Engineering Science, Information Science and Technology, Life Sciences, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Public Affairs, Software Engineering, and Humanities and Social Science.

The program duration ranges from 3 to 11 months, with the main intake in Fall 2026. Participants will work in top-tier labs under the guidance of leading professors at USTC, enhancing their research capabilities and gaining a competitive edge for future graduate studies. The program also offers cultural immersion, including free Chinese language and culture classes to help students experience Hui culture.

Funding is generous, with three levels of USTC Fellowships available. Level A covers tuition, comprehensive medical insurance, free university dormitory, and a monthly stipend (2,500 RMB for Bachelor’s, 3,000 RMB for Master’s, and 3,500 RMB for PhD students). Level B includes tuition waiver, free accommodation, and medical insurance. Level C provides a tuition waiver. All applicants are considered for these fellowships based on merit. Eligibility criteria include being a non-Chinese citizen with a valid foreign passport, aged 18–40, in good health, and with no criminal record. Applicants should be currently enrolled as full-time students in undergraduate Year 3/4, Master’s, or doctoral programs, and must demonstrate strong English language skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement for general eligibility.
