About this position

The University of Inland Norway is inviting applications for its English-taught Master in Applied Ecology, located at Campus Evenstad, Norway. This two-year, full-time programme (120 ECTS) immerses students in the sustainable management of natural resources, focusing on applied ecology, wildlife management, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation. The curriculum combines theory and practice, preparing graduates for careers in research, environmental management, and further doctoral studies. The international campus environment offers proximity to nature and a vibrant student life with social and outdoor activities.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree equivalent to a Norwegian degree, with at least 80 ECTS credits in relevant subjects (biology, ecology, zoology, botany, statistics, etc.) and an average grade of C or higher. Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency. Non-EU/EEA applicants must submit a motivation letter and pay tuition fees of NOK 68,500 per year, with proof of funding required. EU/EEA/EFTA students are exempt from tuition fees but must pay a semester fee. The programme encourages international exchange and allows for external supervisors for master theses.

Graduates qualify for roles such as research assistants, wildlife managers, nature inspectors, and positions in environmental protection agencies, landowner organizations, and educational institutions. The application deadline for non-EU/EEA applicants is December 1, 2025, and for EU/EEA applicants is April 15, 2026. The application portal opens November 1 for non-EU/EEA and February 1 for EU/EEA applicants. For more information, contact International Coordinator Heidi Braadland at [email protected].
