As a PhD candidate, you will work within the EXOTHERM project, funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The research aims to design hybrid cooling devices that exploit both electronic and phononic transport properties at the nanoscale, using in-house quantum transport codes and electrical stimulation. The position is based at the Institut Matériaux Microélectronique Nanosciences de Provence (IM2NP Lab), located at the Faculté des Sciences de Saint Jérôme in Marseille, France.

The successful candidate will benefit from strong international collaboration, including several scheduled research stays at the University of Tokyo, fostering global scientific exchange and broadening research perspectives. The monthly salary is 2300€ before tax, and the university provides comprehensive support for international candidates through the AMU EURAXESS Center, assisting with visas, insurance, accommodation, and other practical matters.
