I have an open Ph.D. position funded by NSERC . I am seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated student with IT industry experience to work on research in Software Engineering at our Software Hub for AnalytiKs, Technology and Innovation (S.H.A.K.T.I ) lab.
The student should be interested in Data analytics and Applied AI/ML technologies to solve SE-related problems. Applicant must meet the admission requirements of the Electrical and Software Engineering Ph.D.
The PhD student will be involved in conducting advanced research in the Software Engineering domain, contributing to academic publications, participating in seminars and conferences, and collaborating with faculty and peers. Responsibilities also include serving as a teaching assistant, engaging in interdisciplinary projects, and fulfilling any other academic tasks as assigned.

Prior industry experience (a must-have)

Teaching experience or interest in teaching assistant roles (good to have)
Relevant master's degree or equivalent academic background (MSc degree in Electrical and Software Engineering or Computer Science with a >3.5 GPA and >7.0 on IELTS)
Self-motivated, proactive, committed to academic excellence and continuous learning with a growth mindset
