About this position
This PhD studentship offers an exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Research Group at Imperial College London, working under the supervision of David Green. The project is part of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Science and focuses on vehicle-derived resuspension as a source of ambient particulate matter (PM₁₀ and PM₂.₅). The research aims to improve quantification and estimation of emission factors, exploring how traffic, weather, and road surfaces contribute to airborne particles—a major but under-researched source of air pollution. Students will use advanced measurement techniques and chemical analysis to better understand these sources, develop emission factors, and link findings to health and policy impacts.
The CDT provides multidisciplinary training in aerosol science, with the first year spent at the University of Bristol before undertaking the PhD project at Imperial College London.
