This position focuses on the computer processing of sound and musical data, with opportunities to propose and develop a research project aligned with the team's interests in musical computing, Music Information Retrieval, and Sound and Music Computing. The research may involve the analysis and generation of guitar tablature and piano scores across various music genres, as well as algorithmic approaches to music notation, composition, and performance. The successful candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with artists and educators, supervise student interns, and participate in public outreach and cultural events. The position offers a 12-month contract with a gross monthly salary of 2750€, generous leave, transport and healthcare benefits, and a supportive, inclusive work environment. Applicants should have a PhD in computer science or a related field, strong programming skills (Python, JavaScript), experience in data science and machine learning, and a strong interest in music. The working language is English, with basic French helpful. The laboratory is located in Talence, near Bordeaux city centre and the Atlantic coast. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the process includes a pre-qualification phone call and an interview with the supervisor.
