Description

The Connected, Automated, and Resilient Transportation (CART) lab in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University is seeking one or two postdoctoral researchers in the area of Smart Transportation Systems. This well-funded opportunity provides hands-on and theoretical research experience related to connected and automated vehicles (CAV) and smart transportation infrastructure. The CART lab, led by Assistant Professor Yiheng Feng, focuses on developing new methodologies and applications in CAV, smart transportation infrastructure, smart mobility, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in transportation systems. The lab features state-of-the-art equipment for CAV-related research, including an autonomous vehicle testing platform, high-fidelity HIL simulation, and high-end computing servers. Postdocs will work on projects related to cooperative driving automation (e.g., cooperative perception and multi-agent systems), V2X applications development and deployment, and smart and integrated work zones. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Civil/Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, with strong programming and mathematical skills and experience in large-scale projects. Candidates with expertise in machine learning, computer vision, multi-sensor fusion, simulation, and field deployment of V2X applications are especially encouraged to apply. Prof. Yiheng Feng is an assistant professor and assistant director of the Center for Road Safety at Purdue University. His research focuses on smart transportation systems, CAV, and smart infrastructure, with publications in top journals and conferences. The CART lab offers a collaborative environment and access to advanced research facilities. For more information, visit the CART Lab website. To apply, send your statement of research and CV to Prof. Feng at [email protected]. This position is open until filled.

Funding

The position is well funded, but specific details about the funding amount, stipend, or tuition coverage are not provided.

How to apply
