About this position

The Weng Cheng research group at China Pharmaceutical University is seeking postdoctoral fellows to join their innovative team in Nanjing, China. The group focuses on high-throughput screening of new targets for key enzyme cofactors of pathogenic bacteria, the design and development of catalytic drugs to precisely intervene in microbial drug resistance, and the use of artificial intelligence to discover new multi-element catalytic drugs. Their research aims to develop highly efficient targeted therapies for major infectious diseases and construct integrated platforms for the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant infections.

China Pharmaceutical University is a leading institution directly under the Ministry of Education of China, recognized for its top-tier programs in pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, and biomedical sciences. The university is part of the national 'Double First-Class', '211 Project', and '985 Project' initiatives, and offers a comprehensive academic environment for advanced research and innovation.

The Weng Cheng group is led by Professor Weng Cheng, a distinguished scholar with extensive experience in multi-target natural drug research and a recipient of national-level talent awards. The group has published in top international journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., JACS Au, Nat. Commun., and ACS Catal., and holds international patents.

Applicants should have a strong background in medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, bioorthogonal chemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, or related fields. A PhD degree (completed or near completion) is required, along with a solid publication record (at least one first-author SCI paper in a relevant field). Candidates must demonstrate strong written communication skills in both Chinese and English and provide two recommendation letters, including one from their PhD advisor. The group values integrity, scientific rigor, and a passion for research.

The position offers a competitive salary of 300,000 RMB per year, with additional benefits such as public medical insurance and housing fund. Successful candidates may apply for various national and provincial funding programs, with cumulative funding and no upper limit. Outstanding researchers may be eligible for further rewards and faculty positions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
