A postdoctoral research position is available in Artificial Intelligence for Precision Nutrition at Prairie View A&M University, under the mentorship of Dr. Janet Antwi, Associate Professor. The position is based in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, with collaborations involving the College of Engineering and the USDA-ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine. The research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches to advance precision nutrition, utilizing large datasets from various sources, including original research collections.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and may participate in research rotations at partnering institutions for broader research experience. The AIPrN program supports professional development and career pathways toward independent research. The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of a third year based on performance and funding availability. The position offers a 12-month stipend (amount commensurate with experience), with additional benefits such as childcare and insurance, following NIH and university guidelines.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, noncitizen nationals, or permanent residents at the time of appointment. A PhD in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health psychology, or a related discipline, or an MD, is required. Candidates should have experience in human subjects research, grant writing, manuscript publication, project management, and student mentoring, along with excellent communication skills. Duties include conducting research, managing projects, and participating in special assignments as needed.
