About this position

The Future Energy and Innovation Lab at Brno University of Technology, led by Professor Martin Pumera, is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join their international team. The group’s research is at the forefront of micro- and nanorobotics, electrochemistry, and functional nanomaterials, including 2D materials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides. Advanced fabrication techniques, including 3D printing and microfabrication, are integral to their work, with broad applications in biomedicine, energy, and environmental science.

Ideal candidates will have expertise in micro/nanorobots, active matter, catalytic, magnetic, or light-driven systems, electrochemistry (including sensing, electrocatalysis, and energy storage/conversion), 2D materials, materials chemistry, colloids, surface functionalization, or the fabrication of functional materials and devices. The lab offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and international environment, with a strong publication culture and access to state-of-the-art CEITEC Nano characterization and fabrication facilities. Researchers are encouraged to shape their own research directions and benefit from career-focused mentoring, as evidenced by over 30 alumni now leading their own labs.

Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, or a closely related field, and demonstrate a strong motivation and publication record. The position is fully funded, though specific salary details are not provided. To apply, candidates should send their CV, publication list, and a short research summary to [email protected], with the subject line 'Postdoc application Future Energy & Innovation Lab'. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

For more information about the lab and its research, visit the Future Energy and Innovation Lab and CEITEC Nano websites.
