The University of Oslo invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Cognitive Neuroscience, focusing on memory processes and dysfunction in disease. The research combines intracranial electrophysiological recordings in humans with behavioral experiments, targeting three primary objectives: establishing single-neuron tetrode recordings in humans, investigating how time and sequence are represented in the human brain and their role in episodic memory, and identifying neural activity patterns underlying physiological and pathological forgetting.

The successful candidate will join a cross-disciplinary team of physiologists, clinicians, informaticians, and engineers, collaborating closely with MSc and PhD students. The project is embedded within the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences and benefits from productive partnerships with the Norwegian Epilepsy Association, the Neurosurgical Department at Oslo University Hospital, the Department of Informatics, the Institute of Psychology at the University of Oslo, and UCSD. Access to a well-equipped laboratory and high-performance computing facilities is provided, and the fellow will be part of a vibrant neuroscience community spanning molecular, cellular, and systems-level research.

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in neuroscience or a related field. Experience with electrophysiological recordings, behavioral experiments, or memory research is desirable.
